Tatar is a Turkic language that has 5.2 million native speakers. The majority of the language's speakers can be found in Tatarstan, which is a federal subject of the Russian federation. The language is also spoken in some regions of Siberia. The Arabic alphabet was used to write this language in the past. After that, a Cyrillic script was modified to write Tatar.
